The gastronomic offer of this region is based on traditional dishes prepared in our restaurants, taverns and other food establishments, always homemade and in harmony with the Dalmatian climate. The basic features of Dalmatian cuisine are fresh ingredients, simple preparation with few spices and herbs (except for parsley, garlic, onion and bay leaves), without too much preference for experimenting with ingredients and gourmet novelties. The meals should start with Dalmatian prosciutto and cheese, salted sardines, a seafood salad or fish marinade, and always with olives that almost every Dalmatian village conserves differently.
