Night of Museum’s
The Croatian Museum Society is organizing manifestation Night of Museum’s in Croatia since 2005. Creators of the Night of the Museum in Croatia came from the authors of the program concept and the project leaders, mr.sc. Vesna Jurić Bulatović and M.Sc. Dubravka Osrečki Jakelić, who in December 2005 Launch the action as a city pilot project with six museums from Zagreb. Since 2007. the Night of Museum’s has become a national event involving more and more museums and cities and the number of visitors exceeds 70,000.
Today, the Night of the Museum’s is a manifestation that seeks to achieve one of the basic strategic goals of the Croatian Museum Society, which is to carry out activities on the perception of museums as heritage institutions, institutions of identity and museums as an inevitable part of the sustainable development of tourism. Activities at the Night of the Museum event are inspired by the recognition of museums as dynamic institutions linking people with global sources of information and ideas and creativity they are looking for; To recognize museums as institutions that make the richness of human expression and cultural diversity available to all users and in all media, and to encourage curiosity to motivate visitors to visit museums, museums as a knowledge base, as well as fun and meaningful leisure time activities.
